Guide · Getting started

Your first five minutes

The fastest path from "I just signed up" to "I'm tracking my games." You can do all of this without connecting Steam, GOG, or PSN.

1. Make an account

Open Sign up from the top bar. Email + password, no card. We don't email-spam you and we don't sell anything.

The sign-up form. Username comes later — you don't need to commit to one to start tracking games.

2. Add your first game

After signing in you land in your library. Click Add in the top nav. Two ways to add a game:

  • Search — type a title; we look it up via RAWG and pre-fill cover, release year, genres.
  • Manual — type the title yourself and fill in whatever fields you want.

Searching usually finds a clean match. Click a result to drop it into your library.

3. Pick a status

Every game has one of four states. They mean what you'd expect:

Backlog

Bought / wishlisted / planning to play someday.

Playing

Currently in your active rotation.

Finished

Credits rolled, or you reached a point you call "done".

Dropped

You stopped and you're not going back. No shame.

On a game card, click the status pill to cycle through them. On the detail page, use the dropdown.

4. (Optional) Rate it, journal it

On a game's detail page you can:

  • Give it a 1–10 rating.
  • Track hours played, progress %, and achievements.
  • Add notes — your private journal that nobody else sees by default.
  • Tag it (e.g. "soulslike", "co-op", "won-game-jam").

5. What's next?

You can stop here and use Dungeon Logbook as a pure manual tracker. Or:
